Divorce – In divorce, our objective is resolution. Through litigation when necessary, we seek the best solution for you. Child Custody and Parenting Plans – Certified Family Law Specialist Attorney Charles M. Green, strives to reach an agreement before a court proceeding. He puts the children's best interests first and does not allow them to be used as pawns. Child Support - While the formula to determine child support is set by law, the amounts entered into the calculation are often in dispute. Incomes and time spent with children must be factored in to determine a fair amount of child support. Those issues and special needs can become contentious. Spousal Support – When possible, ex-spouses are entitled to maintain the lifestyle they enjoyed during their marriage. I assist clients with my expertise in determining the data for the temporary spousal support calculator and the nonformulaic process for permanent support. Property and Debt Division - Marital and nonmarital property and debt must be determined and appropriately divided as part of a divorce proceeding. I assist with that process and try to resolve any disputes that come out of the characterization and division of property. Prenuptial Agreements – For my clients about to enter into their first marriage, prenuptial agreements are often useful to define expectations. For clients getting married for a second time, I will negotiate prenups in an attempt to define expectations and to protect assets for themselves and their children from their previous marriage. Modifications - While a divorce Judgement represents the final step in a California Dissolution of Marriage case, the Judgment can be altered in certain circumstances, especially as to child support or child custody. These circumstances include a new job or a move by one parent to another state. In recent years, more than 50% of California marriages have ended in divorce.
